DUO PRO – Both Lines (Y-DNA + mtDNA)

DUO PRO is the most comprehensive genealogical test in our portfolio. With a single order and a single sample collection, you receive the advanced analysis of both of your deep genetic lineages — maternal (mitochondrial DNA, mtDNA) and paternal (Y chromosome). You will learn not only where the ancestors of your mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother came from, but also the origins of your father's, grandfather's, and all male ancestors' line. The test combines both PRO variants: extended mtDNA sequencing (HVR1 + HVR2, and in some cases the entire mitochondrial genome) for precise assignment to a maternal haplogroup and subhaplogroup, together with extended Y-STR analysis for fine-grained placement within a paternal Y-haplogroup. The result is a single consolidated final report containing both haplogroups, migration maps of your distant ancestors from both lines, and a comparison with global reference populations — a complete genetic family tree reaching thousands of years into the past. The test is recommendid for men, as it includes analysis of the Y chromosome, which is carried and inherited exclusively through the male line. Women who wish to obtain a similarly comprehensive picture are recommended to ensure they can collect samples of male relative from the paternal side (father, brother, uncle, or paternal male cousin). Sampling is non-invasive — a buccal (cheek) swab using the DNA kit we send free of charge with clear instructions.
